I had removed the steering column as part of the dash repair, and decided to
give it the full treatment when it came to restoring it.

This is the column fully disassembled, all parts cleaned and painted,
ready for reassembly.
During disassembly I found that the upper column bearing was shot, so
that was replaced with a new Ford bearing. |

This is the basic column assembly process.

The top of the shaft is reassembled with spring clips, the new bearing, and
the rubber bearing grommet
|

The top of the column is reassembled with the original parts, including the
turn signal cam
|
|
|

Here is the finished product, ready to install with a new firewall seal. |
